Other (Non-DWI) Crimes
We Focus on DWI Defense, But Not Exclusively
At Ramsay Law Firm, we made the conscious decision to limit our practice to defending DWI cases, and the types of cases that involve DWI-related issues. But that's not the end of the story. In the past, the attorneys of Ramsay Law Firm handled the full range of criminal cases -- murders, drug possession cases, white collar crimes, domestic assault cases, you name it. And we were good, too; good at getting acquittals, negotiated dismissals, and other good results. We still handle those other types of cases, but on a very selective, case by case basis. The overwhelming majority of our case load remains DWI cases.
We prefer to handle DWI cases, and Minnesota needs a law firm dedicated to providing top-notch DWI defense. A decade ago, someone charged with a DWI in Minnesota would call (probably randomly from the Yellow Pages) a jack-of-all-trades defense attorney for help and advice. That attorney would, more often than not, tell the person that their best bet was to "plead guilty" and then charge the highest fee they could to effectively babysit their client through the plea process. That's when Ramsay Law Firm first stepped into the arena as a firm that intentionally limited its practice to DWI defense. By making that decision years ago, we were able to built up the experience and track record that other jack-of-all-trades law firms simply cannot compete with.
In the right case, we'll go back to our roots. That being said, we do still handle other types of criminal cases. Most times, when someone calls us for representation on a non-DWI case, we'll refer them to another criminal defense attorney that we trust to handle that particular type of case (just like many other criminal defense attorneys will come to us when they've got a tricky DWI situation to deal with). Sometimes, however, a client's circumstances or case will be compelling enough where we'll jump at the opportunity to personally step in and help out. One thing is for sure -- there is no harm in calling us with questions about your non-DWI case. Even if we decline the representation, we'll certainly point you in the right direction, towards a very capable and respected defense attorney that might be better suited for your situation.
When you call Ramsay Law Firm, you're not a "customer," you're our client. And whether we take your case or not, that makes you the most important person in the world. Feel free to check out our website. It's built up to be an exhaustive resource for anything involving DWI in the State of Minnesota, but it also includes a sampling of our success stories, media appearances, and the like (and some of those are even non-DWI related!). When you're ready to talk about your case, and what we might be able to do to help you, please give us a call. If you'd rather send us a message, just use the contact form to the right, and we'll get back to you as soon as you'd like. In any event, when you want answers, we'll be here, waiting to help you.
Chuck Ramsay talks about one of his most rewarding cases -- where he was able to step in and fix the problems caused by a prior defense attorney, and transform one client's life by changing a conviction into a dismissal.
